Hi,

Welcome to my home page.

My interests are :

Perl Perl is good stuff.

I find it addictive both in the exhilaration while writing code in it,
and also in the withdrawal symptoms when I have to write code in something else.

Here are some Perl programs I wrote:
Web Server 'ws' - my famous 34 line web server - see the Description
RicksWM
X Window Manager
(v4.1.72)
A Window Manager for X using the X11::Protocol module - see the Description.
Previous RicksWM (v3.6.31) A Window Manager for X using the X11::Protocol module - see the Description. (Previous version, but it does come with the C WM.)
RicksWiki A Wiki system written as a CGI. It will also run under mod_perl, or as a standalone task under a modified version of the above web server.
Model Railroad Simulation This is a running (but not finished, nothing this size is ever finished) Perl/Tk program that allows running multiple trains on a layout with coupling and de-coupling.
Simple Language Parsing Two parsers for a simple programming language. This was done to try out some optimization techniques. Included is a full assembler and hardware simulator, as well as a parse tree viewer.

If anyone's looking for a Perl guru, I'm currently available...
Linux My home network contains two Linux boxes and two SPARCStations. All ISP traffic goes out through a Linux box using ip_masquerade (really cool stuff !!).

Linux is a great OS to run Perl on...
R/C Flying. I fly R/C airplanes and helicopters at the Bayside R/C Club field. I'm an instructor there.

Here's a picture of one of my planes. It's a profile stand-way-off semi-scale model of the Convair XFY-1 Pogo VTO airplane. The real plane flew in the 50's. My model has flown once, with a vertical lift-off and a successful tail-first vertical landing.

Here I am hovering my Cermark Lil Banchee.

And here's three pictures of me and my R/C helicopter: one, two, and three.
