...a brief bio


Hi, I'm Michael Reining, and I love to cook and I love lobster!  That's me in my cheesy Chefs hat.  I don't like to wear that one too much.  Makes me look like a pizza guy! 

I've worked for some of the top caterers in the bay area including Paula Le Duc, Trumpetvine and most recently at Gimanelli's in Pleasanton. I was the Chef at the Richmond Yacht Club. And I have cooked at numerous restaurants in the east bay including Lulu, Barones, Walkers and New Rochelle. 

Before attending and graduating from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, I was in radio broadcasting for over 15 years.  Taking my radio experience along with my culinary background, I developed a syndicated radio program called "The Radio Kitchen". On the program I talk to the current movers and shakers in the food biz and and present their stories to you.  

My life's experience are unique and I bring a creative yet organized approach to my menu's and recipes.  I have even won awards for my recipes, including the Grand Prize in the House of Sandeman Port and Sherry Food and Wine Pairing Competition.
