Ralph Hagan has had an interest in pistols since childhood. He started collecting WWII pistols in 1970 and purchased his first Liberator in 1975. When his wife, who had little interest in pistols, saw it for the first time she said, "That's the ugliest gun I've ever seen--but I like it." Nothing more needs to be said as to why the hunt was on for more Liberators.
In 1988 his WWII pistol collection was completed, and a decision was made to produce a book to document this small piece of WWII history.
He works in the telecommunications field and hopes
to retire for the third and last time shortly after this book is published.
He has two grown children and lives with his wife of 40 years in Northern
California.
