  Added 16 September 2003 - A video of the bird by David Vander Pluym was submitted to the California bird records committee. It included sound recordings which I did not have an opportunity to analyze previously. With permission, Dan Singer copied the sound portion of the video to minidisk and sent the recording to Al Jaramillo who kindly provided the following digitized sound files and sonograms:.

  I believe the recordings and sonograms provide compelling evidence that this bird was an Ash-throated Flycatcher.
