HEALTHY NEWS: You are invited free of cost to join the Deacons and the Health Ministry Cabinet to learn about “visiting.” If you have ever thought that you might like to visit that sick friend, neighbor, relative or congregation member, but never quite felt comfortable, here is your chance to get some training on the do’s and don’ts of visiting. You will learn methods that will help you feel “more comfortable” in making visits, and how to set boundaries for yourself, your time. Do you know someone who is homebound (a neighbor, your friend’s parent, etc.), lives in an extended care facility, has a temporary condition which prevents them from leaving their house, or is in the hospital? Five or 10 minutes out of your day to visit someone can make a huge difference for them; but best of all, you often leave feeling the most blessed!
Cathy Klose, Health Coordinator from Methodist Hospital will come to Calvary Presbyterian Church following worship service on February 23rd to teach this 1½ hour class. It will be helpful to know if you are planning to attend as a light lunch will be served. We will be happy to arrange for child care for younger children, but need to know ahead of time.
