THERE WILL BE A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING Sunday, March 30, in the sanctuary immediately following worship. The purpose of the meeting is 1) to vote on the proposed changes to our Bylaws and 2) to present the 2003 budget for information and comment. Copies of the proposed changes to the Bylaws are available in the church office.
Following the Congregational meeting there will be a reception at coffee hour for Marie Gray who is retiring the end of this month.
LABYRINTH WALKS. As part of the South Pasadena Ecumenical Lenten Worship Series, two Labyrinth walks are available to us. Oneonta will host a Labyrinth Walk today, March 16th and on Sunday, March 23rd, from 1 - 5 p.m. The Walk is located in Gray Hall and takes approximately one hour to complete. If you are interested, please call Alicia at 626-441-5108 so she can schedule a time for you. The second Labyrinth Walk will be at Holy Family Catholic Church during Holy Week. Labyrinths are not mazes, they are spiral walking trails painted on canvas or constructed from materials. Presbyterian minister Lynn Penny once wrote: “Labyrinths have reemerged as a resource for prayer and meditation, a tool for discernment, a symbolic representation of the journey toward unity and wholeness, a doorway to union with the holy.” Like reading the Bible aloud or singing hymns, walking labyrinths is a form of kinetic worship - a sort of “prayer in motion.”
from an article “Walking Labyrinths” by Sherrod Taylor

We have a new book called From Fury to Freedom by Raul Ries. Here is a miraculous true story of God’s changing story in an abusive Viet Nam veteran. He was known to be a violent, dangerous time bomb, ready to explode at any moment. Then one Sunday evening a miracle led Raul from black rage into inner peace. Raul Ries was never again the same. He was totally transformed.
