  3. Ancestry Home Page You can browse their free databases and maps for a few days then they are put in a members area which requires a subscription. High quality databases.
  4. Genealogy Portal The site is designed to assist genealogists in finding information that is not readily accessible through traditional genealogical link sites. All search engines and databases are free to all users.
  5. Everton's Genealogical Helper Similar to Ancestry. They feature the Reference Library and the Genealogical Helper magazine.
  6. Family Tree Maker They publish genealogy software and CD-ROM's. You'll find here a large number of user home pages and a good search tool across all their reference cd's.

  • 1895 U.S. Atlas Maps from the 1895 World Atlas.
  • U Georgia Rare Map Collection The Hargrett Rare Books and Manuscripts Library at the University of Georgia maintains a collection of about 800 historical maps spanning nearly 500 years, from the sixteenth century through the early twentieth century.
