SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

As architects, one of our goals is to make our vision of an environmentally responsible and healthy built environment a reality. Sustainable design is an environmentally responsive approach to creating built environments with minimum damage or risk to local, regional and global environments. It combines the best of time-tested building principles with new ideas and technologies to create buildings that are energy efficient, resource efficient, healthy, and compatible with natural and cultural context.

To implement this goal, Reif/Shafer Architects has participated in the following programs to meet the differing needs of our clients:

Institutional/Commercial:

US Green Building Council LEED: RSA supported Carol Reif and Susan Pae’s participation in LEED training. They each have passed the certification examination to become a LEED 2.0 Accredited Professionals.
