2200 Bancroft Way - Public Affairs University of California, BerkeleyIn 1999, the University of California purchased a former bank building at the edge of campus. This 10,000 s.f. renovation for the high profile Public Affairs Department included a seismic up-grade of masonry structural. Private offices and open office areas for five teams were included, as well as conference rooms and support spaces (work rooms, toilets and kitchen). These were all organized along a central spine with 10' ceilings along one side and 18' skylight spaces on the other. A layout area with storage and pin-up wall was included for the graphic design team. The rear patio was preserved for outdoor meetings and lunch gatherings.
The project was completed on time and on budget.
