Institute of Governmental Studies Library Moses Hall University of California, Berkeley
This renovation of an existing library for faculty, graduate students and library staff provides improved access to digital and reference materials. Universal design was a guiding design principle in order to create a flexible space for use as a research library and as a space for receptions and forums (supported by digital media).
As mandated by the Regents of the University of California, green building practices were employed to conserve resources (re-use of furnishings, sustainable wood products and those with high re-cycle content) and improve indoor air quality (paint, carpet). New fluorescent lights improved energy efficiency.
