Planned Unit Development - East Bay Habitat for Humanity
Crockett, CA
This project, completed in 2002, is a Planned
Unit Development in Crockett, California. The six-unit project is designed for a lot owned by the Crockett Community Foundation (which provided a development
seed grant and the lot to EBHFH).
A series of community design workshops
were held to solicit the neighbor's input for the project. The site was
difficult to develop due to the cost savings strategy of working with
existing retaining walls of the steeply sloping lot. The units are in
scale with and have architectural details similar to the surrounding homes.
The two-story duplex units each have on-site parking and two additional
parking spaces are provided for guest parking. A handicapped accessible
unit is planned if such an owner/builder may be located within the community
of Crockett.
