Bob's Yellow Bird

My T-Bird Emblem

Page Four: The California Delta

At Gentrytown Park It was a beautiful fall day and I needed a change of scenery so I packed some lunch and a Thermos of coffee, put the top down, and headed for the delta.

This is a nice park I found in Antioch to take my lunch break and stretch my legs.

It was nearly deserted, a nice benefit of being retired and able to go places while most other people are at work.

At Gentrytown Park I took this picture so I wouldn't forget the name of the park, but it's kind of an unusual name so I decided to keep it.

I wonder if Gentrytown Park is where the local gentry hang out or if Gentrytown is where they live.

At Gentrytown Park This is a shot of the park looking toward the mountains. It was really pretty and a crystal clear day.

Notice all the people hanging around.

At Gentrytown Park I just can't resist taking a picture of my Thunderbird whenever I get a chance. It's so photogenic.

At Gentrytown Park The interior is no slouch either. Notice my driver's companion sitting in the cup holder.

Along Marsh Creek Road This is along Marsh Creek Road which runs between Concord and Brentwood.

I had never been here before and was awe-struck at how beautiful it is.

Along Marsh Creek Road This is also along Marsh Creek Road but looking in a more northerly direction.

That's Mount Diablo in the distance.

Along Marsh Creek Road Another shot taken along Marsh Creek Road. Everything was so beautiful I hated to leave.

I sure would like to be able to camp under some of those oak trees.

Along Marsh Creek Road There sits The Bird where I pulled over to take the pictures.

It was so quiet and traffic was so scarce I just stood out in the middle of the road.

Then it was time to head home. I had a very nice day.
