Robin,
I'm in a wedding this Saturday and the rehearsal is in Livermore at 3:45pm this Friday, which bites. My bad for not realizing the rehearsal was so early. I have asked Carl Azevedo to play and he is available. You know Carl right? He's a very good bass trombone and you won't even know I'm not there. Sorry about the mix-up. Can you send me the details on the gig? It's 2:30pm-4:30pm right? $85?? Thanks

Steve Morrow

I was living in Kodiak Alaska when April Ames and the Dames were there playing at Diamond Jims. I invited the band over to our house where my mom made home made pizza for everyone. It was a blast. I don't believe I missed a night of seeing the band play. I found that Ronnie Lee had an interest in cars, and Jeff Beck, so mI took her to the Coast Guard base to help me work on my Chevy truck. she looked awesome in a pair of coveralls and we adjusted the valves on my small block 350. I fell madly in love with that woman and it took me a long time to get my heart back on track. I now live and work in the Spokane area. Been here 20yrs after Kodiak. If any of the old band members read this e-mail please contact me so I can say hello. Sincerely Dean Huggins

I'm hoping to see you folks there again in the future. I heard you're on a compilation CD from the Jazz Society of Santa Cruz County. Where do I purchase this CD?

Hi,
Our elelmentary school is in need of a swing band for our April auction. We can pay $500 for the evening and food/refreshments. The event will be held at the Blackhawk Museum, in Danville, CA with the theme of 'Hollywood Glamour'. You may be too pricey for us but I thought you might steer me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated especially from professionals.

Thank you.

I was in a band with Brandy Bento back in 1973. I was the drummer. Michael McDonald and Jamie Browning were also in the band.
I have lost touch with Brandy over the years and would like to know where she is. I am still playing drums with a rockabilly/surf band called CADILLAC ANGELS. I would really like to hear from her or her daughter, Heather who I used to babysit for back in 1972.

Hi Ruby!
It's your old pal Ben dropping a line to say "hello" and to let you know what's new. Vera and I now live in Aurora, Illinois -- you're old stomping grounds, right? Aren't you from Naperville? I'm trying to remember, but I remember you telling me your Dad was a Chicago-area cop. After two years in the Bay Area and two years out in the Central Valley east of Modesto, we finally made the move back to the Midwest and we are very happy we did. Vera is stil with the airline. I now work at a big sports product retailer as a marketing manager and I still write songs and play music. I listen to a great college radio station here, WDCB 90.9 FM in Geneva. They play jazz all day, folk and blues at night, and big band on the weekend. One of their folk shows plays cuts from my CDs. At long last my songs are getting airplay! There's a strong big band scene around here. There's a DJ on that station who has his own -- The John Burnett Orchestra. We went to hear them one night and they were good. They had a good female vocalist -- but nobody you couldn't blow off the stage, of course. I also have my music now on the Internet for sale, under my stage name, Ben Sage. Just check out www.cdbaby.com/all/bensage and you'll hear me. How's life in California? Hope you and Robin are doing well. Feel free to email, write or call us sometime. It's Ben Neuhauser and Vera Lyoubovskya, 707 N. Edgelawn Drive, Aurora (party on, excellent) IL, 60506. My mobile number is 630-276-6049 and our regular home number is 630-892-3978. Hope this finds you well and doing great. Hello to Robin. Love, Ben

Ruby ,
A couple of things.
I want to give Lee Ann some vocal lessons with you for Christmas culminating in her singing as a guest singer with the RABB on her birthday the first week in May. Is this something we can work out ? She is going to sign up for Walley's class next semester . It's at the same time as the Big band. If this is OK with you ,could we get some of your recordings for her to see if the keys are right for her and to practice with? What would you charge for an hour or two once a month. We would both appreciate our time and energy. Just say so if this is all out of line .I've gotten myself into trouble too many times trying to get stuff like this done .
On another note , how much do you want for the Mackie mixer? I have someone looking for one .
Take care , see ya next Tuesday ,
