Our first endeavor into the recording world happened in 1994 when Robin Anderson and I decided that the group needed to record for posterity, family and friends, the music that we loved so much. Plus ... it looks good on your resume and was a great way to present ourselves. Somehow when you tell folks you have a CD, they automatically give you more respect!
The project was recorded live at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, California on 4 A-DAT recorders in a remote truck and then mixed down at Mars Studio in Aptos, California. Thanks to Kenny Capitanich for all his patience and to our engineer Eric Bates who continued to work even though he was fighting a terrible flu. All this music is live.
