Jets Over Whidbey 98

The Jets Over Whidbey 98 was held August 29-30.

This was a low stress fan fly held at a great location. The runway is 200' x 5000'
providing plenty of take-off and landing room with unrestricted airspace to fly in.

The weather on Saturday was cool and the fog did not lift until 11:00 AM, and there
was a 10 mph crosswind. This did not stop the jet modelers from flying though.

Sunday was warmer and the wind was light. More sorties were logged by the jets.

This year is the marks the first time Gas turbine powered jets flew at Whidbey.

Three (3) gas turbine powered jets made it to the event, and two (2) turbine left the
event intact. See photo below.

The F-106 belongs to Darrel Usher, but this

My F-106 will be powered by a RAM 750,
performance should be exceptional.
