Norwegian Forest Cats

This is the home page of Ray Saewert. I have been active in showing and raising Norwegian Forest Cats since 1994. Lansingridge Norris, is my first great cat. The picture that you see is Norris, who was shown for five years. He is a TICA Supreme Grand Champion and a CFA Grand Champion. Norris was CFA's Northwest Region Best Norwegian Forest Cat for several years and TICA's Best NFC in 1998.

The NFC, as a breed, is slow to mature compared to other breeds of cats. An NFC does not reach maturity until five years. Socialization is plays an important part in their development and takes a lot of time, patience and love. My breeding focuses on temperament and health. I have tested my breeding cats for Polycystic Kidney Disease and Glycogen Storage Disease Type IV. My kitties supported the UC Davis research program that identified the PKD gene.

Norwegian Forest Cats, Kittens

I have several kittens available. They are typically spayed or neutered before they go to a new home. The links below provide additonally information on adoption and what is currently availble.

Persians?--Persians!

We have a multi-breed household. Intermingled with the NFC's are some prize winning smoke and solid Persians. They relate to each other very well. The Persians get better at jumping and the NFC's learn about soft paws. The Persians are Donna Valador's special love. You can learn more about them at the links below.
