Welcome to Heartstone Press

We are a new publishing venture committed to the power of story and specializing in contemporary mythology.  We have recently launched our first book, The Ancestors' Fire, by Karena Cuilty Oberman.

The Ancestors' Fire is an odyssey from an Irish homeland on the edge of the sea, to a Mexican village in the throes of a revolution, and to realms mysterious and mythic.

Alicia seems to have it all -- a loving family a comfortable home, an absorbing career.  But she is filled with a longing, a feeling that something is missing.  The year her father dies and her son prepares to leave home, she is consumed by a compelling desire to follow her dreams and the heartbeat of her people.  As Alicia pieces together forgotten stories, she reconnects the lifeline between three families and creates an enchanted work of art.

With raw sensual detail, memorable characters, humor and heart, The Ancestors' Fire is a unique yet universal exploration of the innate wisdom and interconnectedness of all beings.  It is both an intimate portrait of a woman's quest for wholeness and meaning and an adventure that stretches across time, across cultures, across borders.
