DIRECTIONS FOR CREATING A DIGITAL STORYBOOK OF THE FRENCH REVOLUTION:
1. You and your partner will create a digital storybook that chronicles major events of the French Revolution and describes how the revolution contributed to the rise of democracy. It should be written in simple, clear language so that a 10 year old could read and enjoy it.
2. Your digital storybook will contain the following features: (10 TOTAL SLIDES)
Ø A visually appealing cover slide with an appropriate title.

A brief introduction slide that describes the
conditions in
Ø
A separate slide for each of the following
events: the meeting of the Estates
General, the Tennis Court Oath, the storming of the Bastille, the march on
Ø Each of these six slides must contain the following: a) a graphic or illustration of the event, b) thought or voice bubbles coming from the characters in the graphic or illustration with dialogue specific to that event, c) a summary of the event related to the French Revolution, d) a brief explanation of whether the event represented a step toward democracy, and e)use of all the vocabulary in the word banks that appear on Student Handout 1.4B (diagrams of the six events).
Ø A conclusion slide that briefly explains how the events of the French Revolution contributed to the growth of democracy.
Ø A resources slide which documents where you gathered your information from.
Ø Additional touches to make the storybook artistic and visually appealing – use of color, sound, video, additional graphics or visuals, page numbers, etc.
3. Your digital
storybook of the French Revolution is due
on Tuesday, December 3rd.
