The Mock Trial program is designed to clarify the workings
of our legal institutions for young people. During mock trials, students
portray each of the principals in the cast of courtroom characters, including
attorneys, witnesses, court clerks, and bailiffs. As student teams
study a hypothetical case, conduct legal research, and receive guidance from
volunteer attorneys in courtroom procedure and trial preparation, they acquire
a working knowledge of our judicial system. Students present their
case in courtrooms before actual judges and attorneys. Check back in
early September to get more information on how to be a part of this year's
team. Make sure you look at the Constitutional Rights Foundation site
on the resource page to see what Mock Trial is all about!
