Shelley, Maury, Alex and Jennie Lipowich

	Maury Lipowich was born December 27, 1932 in Pultusk, Poland (link is to pictures of Lipowich home in Poland) to Zelig and Rosa Lipowich. He was one of the 1000 Yalde Tehran a group of children brought to Palestine during WWII. He was raised in Kfar Hanoar Hadati in Israel. After serving in the Israeli army as a Sargent-Major, he came to the United States in 1956. He was accepted at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana as an unclassified student and earned a degree in Architecture. He married Shelley Ruben in 1959. Maury worked with two architectural firms, Minoru Yamasaki Associates, Inc. and Harry Weese & Assoc. in Chicago. He then founded Maury M. Lipowich and Assoc. an Architecture Firm in Chicago. He designed office buildings, mult-family buildings, temples and private residences. He later founded Birchwood Development Corporation and designed and built over 50 homes on Chicago’s North Shore before retiring to Arizona. He is enjoying the sun in Tucson, playing tennis every morning, working with his electronic investments, and hand crafting some amazing walking sticks, (link to picture of Penina Wagschal with one of the sticks) menorahs and more out of dried cactus.
	Shelley Ruben Lipowich was born April 17, 1939 in Elmhurst, Illinois. She obtained a degree in English and Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, a Masters degree in Linguistics and a P.H.D. in Education from Loyola University. She is a life long educator. She lives in Arizona where she is President of her Hadassah Organization and works with the University of Arizona's Kanto Gakuin University, Center for English as a Second Language . 	Alex Lipowich was born December 26, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. He obtained a Bio-Medical Engineering degree from Northwestern University and an M.D. from Rush Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical College. His Residency training was at Loyola Medical Center. He is a physician practicing in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and is a Board Certified Ob-Gyn. You can find him at Alexian Brothers and GlenOaks Hospitals. Alex spends his free time working on his cars and racing them on midwest race tracks with the BMW Club of Chicago. He also takes his Range Rover off road with the local Range Rover Club, takes part in adventures with Steppin Out and enjoys hanging out with friends. Alex is seen here with his cousin Jacob Kiferbaum.
	Jennie Lipowich Starr was born on November 16, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a B.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University, a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters in Information Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. She worked for 5 years as an Applications Consultant for LEXIS-NEXIS working with law, accounting and Consulting firms in the Midwest. She and her husband Stuart Starr moved to San Diego, CA in 1999. In San Diego she has been working for software companies in Product Marketing. She is currently with MedUnite. She and Stuart are enjoying the beaches, running year round and exploring the Southwest. She's been spending a fair amount of her free time these days building this site and another called KMTool (Knowledge Management Tool).
