The Queen Mary is one of the most significant
historical sites in
"Students in grade ten study major turning points that shaped
the modern world, from the late eighteenth century through the present,
including the cause and course of the two world wars (Grade 10).
Students in grade eleven study the major turning points in
American history in the twentieth century (grade 11)."
Our program is
designed to meet graduation requirements and has been developed with input and
support of teachers and school districts and departments of education. This
will attract teachers to the field trip opportunity, satisfy state requirements
for content and provide the youth with a perfectly unique “immersion” into
history like no other venue.

Schools and districts are under budget
pressures unlike any seen before. The Queen Mary has invited community agencies
to help provide this much needed educational experience. Groups supporting the
collaborative effort include the Steamship Historical Society of America, the
Art Deco Society of Los Angeles and many other agencies and individuals. Join
us in our effort to provide quality history education – let’s not let the students miss
out just because of budgets. We plan to raise funds and volunteer
support from the community to provide for costs related to this program.
