IBD stands for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which refers to both Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). According to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Inc.:
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic
intestinal disorders. They affect up to 2 million Americans, with 200,000 under
the age of 18. In fact, these crippling diseases have been diagnosed in
children as young as 18 months.

What’s IBS?
IBS stands for
Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It is not considered a disease, but rather a
condition. It is painful and disruptive, but not dangerous. It is possible for
IBD patients to also have IBS, which has the effect of throwing gas on the
fire. My links
section includes IBS sites.
