About the Author/Site Manager
Susan Nelson Hobbs ("Sue") has a BA in Home
Economics -- Child and Family Development, with a minor in
Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento
(CSUS). She graduated in 1983, and since then the department has
changed it's name to Consumer and Family Science (or something like
that). Literally of the "old school", Sue persists in calling herself a
Home Economist, mostly because she doesn't know what new grads call
themselves. Sue has been a Home Economist in Homemaking for over 20
years, but has also worked as a church office manager, muffin lady
(selling pastries door to door at business offices) and office temp.
She is married to an electronics technician, has a daughter attending
UC Berkeley, and a stepson who's a paramedic in Colorado. She grew up
in El Cerrito, CA and has lived in Sacramento since 1979. Sue is a
church youth worker, choir member, IBD patient, genealogist, writer, poet, photographer, songwriter and Sacramento River Cats fan.
