I received my dental degree in 1971 from the University of Michigan, and was honored with the award for excellence in gold inlays, which was the state-of-the-art procedure at that time.
Because I take pride in keeping
my skills and knowledge base current, I have continued my education,
acquiring over three thousand hours in courses encompassing all phases
of dentistry. I am constantly looking for the newest and best
treatment options for my patients, and attend seminars and
presentations whenever new information is being presented. There are
also key seminars held annually which I regularly attend.
It’s really amazing how
much dentistry has progressed during the time I’ve been in practice.
Modern procedures and materials let me save teeth that would have been
lost or might at least have required crowns even five years ago. Now
we can make even involved procedures much more comfortable for our
patients while shortening recovery time and providing far better
outcomes.
The new filling materials are more
biocompatible, and by using decay detector liquid, I can tell much
more precisely when I have removed all the decay. This is important,
because while using the indicator takes a little more time, I can be
much more confident that I’ve gotten everything cleaned out, while
at the same time I can avoid going any deeper than absolutely
necessary. The result is a tooth that’s much stronger, and a filling
that will really last.
I hope my patients will
feel as good about the treatment I and my staff provide as I feel
about caring for them.
