In Washington stand some magnificent mountains. One of these is Mt Rainier. It's glacier covered peak at 14,411 ft above sea level, overlooks Seattle and the surrounding area. A wonderful sight from afar, it gets more enthralling as we approach it.

The trees start to close in, as we go up the mountain. the streams grow larger and fuller. Waterfalls appear around every corner. Soon we travel over the bridge over chilled waters. A youthful stream of water cascades far below the rock and concrete bridge that the road uses to transport us upwards towards the ancient frozen waters above.

Upwards we go. the day is still warm and sunny. Ahead are glaciers gleaming in the sunlight. Sheer rock faces, seem to challenge human presence.

More flowing water, here a waterfall glistens in the sunlight. Down a short trail we discover a beautiful rainbow, glowing in the mist given off by the water tumbling toward the valley below.
