The original robot's claws had an interesting detail on their inner aspect. A shallow triangular channel was carved into this inner surface. It does not serve any apparent function. Some builders have speculated that they were created by adding bondo or putty to the robot's claws, which were probably carved out of wood.

Since the robot's claws were supposed to look and function as if they were machined out of metal, I am using the terrific cast aluminum claws manufactured by Bill Kendzierski.
