Talkin’ Tokens is the
monthly magazine for NATCA – which is the biggest and best token society
and organization. It costs only $30 a year, and you get 12 issues
of a great trade token magazine. It is loaded with stuff for sale
(good buys) and people selling and trading from all 50 states.
I really recommend joining NATCA. It is fantastic, and each month
you will really look forward to bidding on tokens from your region.
I am relatively new to token collecting – and boy, am I hooked – a great
hobby.
Take a few minutes and
drop them a line and tell them you are possibly interested in joining.
I am pretty sure they will send you a free copy of the magazine, and you
will see how great and informative it is! I guarantee that you will
like the magazine. That is where I have found most of my trade tokens,
and you will meet many people with similar interests.

=============================================================
NATIONAL
TOKEN COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION
NATCA was founded in September 1996 by a group of dedicated collectors of trade tokens. The Association has a broad based, many handed national foundation dependent on the input of all its members. The Constitution and Bylaws and the Code of Ethics assure the long term existence of NATCA.
NATCA has a core group of ten, elected,
collectors representing and acting for its members:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Board of
Directors (5 members)
Editor
These officers comprise the Executive
Committee which manages the affairs of NATCA.
The positions of Secretary, Treasurer and Editor, extremely vital to the
success of the organization, are appointed by the Executive Committee,
while the other offices are elective. Elected officers serve for
a two year term.
The aims of NATCA
are to
· promote the collecting of merchant trade tokens and other exonumia
made of metal, cardboard, plastic, wood, vulcanite, celluloid, etc.
· foster good relations and
fellowship in the token collecting hobby
· encourage study and sharing
of information through articles and monographs about token issuing business,
the tokens themselves (such as series and new finds), and token manufacturers
or diesinkers
Talkin’ Tokens, the monthly official publication of NATCA, is a magazine largely devoted to informational articles contributed by members, educational articles, and advertising consisting mainly of mail bid sales, fixed price lists, prices realized listings, token news, and token organization information. Page size is a full 7-1/2” X 10-3/4”.
The publication also features
free member classified ads of up to 50 words in each issue, notices
of regional token shows, reviews of token catalogs, a calendar of upcoming
token events (meetings and auctions), a listing of national and regional
token organizations, Association news, and more. Talkin’ Tokens is
published monthly, a full twelve times a year, and is sent to all NATCA
members by first class mail. For a sample copy of a recent issue,
send $2.00, to cover mailing expenses, to the Secretary.
The very first issue of Talkin’ Tokens,
40 pages in size, appeared in October 1996. First class postage mailing
costs alone per member each year reach nearly $20.00 for Talkin’ Tokens
and the membership directory. NATCA takes great pride in providing
our publication each and every month of the year, and always
on time.
NATCA has enjoyed rapid membership growth, starting with zero in September 1996, up to 407 by the end of 1996, topping 500 by June 1997, and now well over 700 and growing each month.
An important activity of NATCA is the annual membership meeting held in conjunction with the National Token and Medal Show, usually held on Labor Day weekend. The Executive Committee selects a location for this Show which has good transportation connections, hotel and dining accommodations, and a central location which is readily accessible for members residing coast-to-coast and north-to-south. The 2002 NATCA National will be held in Omaha, Nebraska on Labor Day weekend,
In addition to the bourse tables manned by collectors and dealers, the NATCA show provides a major, combination mail and floor bid sale of higher quality exonumia emphasizing US trade tokens. The meeting and show give members the opportunity to connect faces and personalities to what otherwise are just names. The show provides a long weekend of exciting buying, selling, trading and exchanging of information.
Included in the NATCA membership fee is a free classified ad in each issue
of Talkin’ Tokens, an attractive permanent membership card,

Here is my check for
another year of NATCA and Talkin’ Tokens. The magazine is getting
more interesting for me as now and then you see a few transportation tokens
listed although I still read everything else about other tokens as they
might be of interest to me.
