Forgotten Practices

I have always been interested in the tools of the trade. The exhibits in this modest collection include a wide range of instruments and tools used in the fields of architecture and engineering for producing technical drawings. Most of these instruments would have been familiar and useful to architects and engineers for the past century--some are even older. Only in the past 5 to 10 years, have they become largely replaced by keyboards and mice. As curator of the museum, I recently felt a sudden urgency to develop a collection of the intruments used in these professions.

The MoODT is a virtual institution devoted to the advancement and retention of knowledge of the old ways of producing drawings.

The exhibits are rotating, the collection is growing, and admission is free, so please take a badge, and you're free tocome back frequently.
