Meets subject to change, check for last minute changes!

Reno Summit - This is one event every vaulter should attend. It's a chance to be around vaulters you have come to know over the years and see the elite vaulters. Anthony cleared the heights of 12'2" and 12'8" on his first attempts. Missed at 13'2". Thanks, to the Castro Valley Coach for his time and advice during the competition. This is a great event to get you pump for the upcoming season!

RENO WOLF PACK - Seems to be blow n threw his pole 14'6 160. Dont have next poles in progression to use during meets. It's was a disappointment only going 12'0".

SIMPLOT GAMES - The Nation's Premier Meet! Roger Werne gave Anthony some life for this meet. loaning/trading him a stick 15' 165 that was needed for this meet. He has been blow n out of poles weekly. In 4 days he went from not getting on this pole, to the perfect pole going into this meet. Out of 46 vaulters Anthony finish 8th. 2 new pr's with a height of 13'9" Thank You Coach Webb for giving Anthony the opportunity to participate in this meet.

MT. PLEASANT/ST.FRANCIS - Anthony went into this meet with no intentions to vault, per Doctors order and did not practice all week with a leg injury.

MT. PLEASANT RELAYS - Anthony was not entered! after a week of stressful thoughts wondering how he can be at the school science festival to earn extra credit and be at the track relays the same day. He can up with a plan that he and Coach Webb were both in agreement that would be good for Anthony and the track team. Anthony felt so good with the out come, he call his PV Coach to tell her he was going to the meet. Anthony talked with PV Coach twice while we were driving to the meet and on the second call that's when she said Anthony could not vault because 4 vaulters from Logan already vaulted.

NEWARK INVITATIONAL - Rain Rain go away! and thanks that it did as Anthony PR at 13'10". He enjoy this meet so much because it was with alot of area vaulters. He moved up to the 15'170 pole after his first vault at 12 feet. And it worked well. Great help from Washington Coach Doug.

STANFORD INVITE. - This meet had 39 vaulters from around the state. Anthony did not have his best vault of the year, with a 13'6" with that he finished 18th. Last year he no height at 12'. His PR last year at this time was 11'6', this years PR 13'10" giving him a 2'4" increase in this one year period.

OAKLAND INVITATIONAL - The meet had the looks of a NCS meet with many vaulters from the NCS area. Anthony took 2nd place looking strong in his vaults. He open at 12'6', clear 13'0 and 13'6" all on first attempt vaults. His second vault at 14' was above the bar and hit it coming down. The winner Tony Frirsche from Galena (Reno NV.) cleared 14' on his 4th attempt and went on to clear 14'6". Anthony has been vaulting with Tony at the bigger meets this year. Big day for Logan vaulter Russell Davis with a PR 10'6" vault, 1 foot increase.

WASHINGTON - Anthony open at 13'0 and cleared it by days. So he had the bar moved up to 14'0 clearing it on his 3 attempt. He had so much confidence going into this meet, it's like he knew that was going to PR 14 today.

ARCADIA - Opening height was 12'6". Anthony came in at 13'0" and no height. He lack a good warm as the weather was cool.

NEWARK MEMORIAL - Won the meet at 13', so his next height was 14'1" for a new PR. He missed making a new PR, but it will come soon!

HAMPTON-PHILLIPS CLASSIC - With a field of 24 vaulters Anthony was in stiff competition with 3 vaulters at 13' and 13'6". At 14'0" Anthony had a great vault with clearance making it on his first attempt and the other two vaulters going out.

IRVINGTON DUAL MEET- Anthony set another PR at 14'3". This is his 5th PR this 2005 season. Nice progression in heights.

BAY AREA TOP 8- It was a pleasure to watch Scott Roth from Granite Bay set a National Record with a Vault of 16'9"

SACRAMENTO MEET OF CHAMPIONS- In a field of 14 vaulters this competition was really stiff. Anthony had the second best height clearance at 13"9" and the winning height was 14'3". He came in 5th. He had the clearance of 14'3" on his 3rd attempt but had the stardards to far back. He did well considering he was ill with cold/sore throat the last 3 days.

KENNEDY- This was the last league dual meet. It was one of Anthony's better vaults. He looked strong at 13',13'6 and 14' with good clearance and form. His 14'4" vault will come soon!

MVAL FINALS- Anthony won the MVAL Pole Vault Title for the second year. His vault of 13'6" won the title, his next height of 14'6" he missed. Special thanks to Coach Doug for his advice during the season.

NCS BAYSHORE- Anthony's winning vault of 14'0" takes the title coming away looking like a fighter. His first vault at 13'0" was beautiful on top, but very ugly coming down as he chip his front tooth with his knee as he landed on his back, on the mats and the force of his knee backward struck him in the mouth and below the eye. He stay somewhat focus and finished his vaults need to win the NCS Bayshore. He moves on to the NCS Meet of Champions

NCS MOC's- In a field of 24 vaulters, Anthony took 2nd place with a 14'0" vault. He will now move on the the state meet next week. Coach Mac from Castro Valley was great help giving Anthony support and advice. Team members Shaheena Shiekh had a outstanding MOC's Meet with a PR vault of 9'9" and Brittany Veal had a solid vault of 9'0".

STATE MEET- Anthony was seeded 25th of 31 vaulters. Opening height was 14'4" he has never opened at this height or cleared this height he made it on his first attempt. It was great to get a new PR at the state meet on his first vault and finsh 17th in the state meet. The next vault was 14'10" as he did not clear. Thanks to CV Coach Mac for his time and support this past week and at this meet.

USATF MEET- 2 OF 9 VAULTERS WERE LEFT AT 14'0". Anthony and Kevin from Castro Valley field & Track both made 14' and moved up to 14'6". Anthony had a good first vault just missing at 14'6". Both vaulters missed at 14'6". Kevin PR 14'

PACIFIC USA JO CHAMPIONSHIP- Coming off a sprain ankle/achilles and no practice for 2 weeks. Anthony had the second highest height at 14'0". Casey Roche cleared 15.0 and went for PR @ 16.1 The top 8 from this meet will move on to the regional JO'S

REGIONAL 14 JO'S- Anthony is healthy ready to go! he's wishing for so tail wind. TOP 3 GO ON TO THE NATIION JO'S. WOW, Casey don't get to vault because paperwork was not turned in on time. Anthony and St. Francis vaulter end up tied at 14'0". They had a sudden death tie off and it took 7 sudden deaths before the St. Francis vaulter won at 14'0". This was a battle with both vaulters feeling the strain of the tie breaker. The wind mostly was a cross with some tail wind. Top 3- 1st charles Key, 2nd Anthony Orozco and 3rd Kevan Turner. National JO'S in Indiana here we come!

USA NATIONAL JO'S- This event is a dream come true! Anthony had the 5th highest vault at the meet. He took 14th out of 32 vaulters. The top 2 vaulters were on the USA World Team. Anthony's 14'5 1/4 vault was a PR. Charles Key took 10th with nice looking vaults and Kevan Turner had a good vaults clearing 13'11 1/4 with 19 place all are from region 14.
