Jamadari Basenjis
Basenjis are happy at Jamadari Basenjis . . . and so are their owners and breeders. At home in the Hollywood Hills, we have 4 kids - Kassandra, 16 years old; siblings Gracie and Dominic who are 7, and our new home-bred puppy, Jamadari's Zuniga of Saorsa, aka "Cubby".
The Next Generation
We do not breed often at Jamadari, but we do breed very selectively. We let our prospective parents mature to an age when all relevant health tests can be done and evaluated to assure (as much as possible) a healthy lineage. We were most pleased to be successful in a Jamila - Jamadari line breeding with artificial insemination from J.J.'s frozen semen; two red and white males were born November 27, 2004. We are so very grateful to Andrea Stone, our co-breeder on this litter, for all of her research, support, and hands-on help in raising the "boyz". Gracie was bred again for the last time in 2005, also with A.I., this time from Hiro's frozen semen. On July 11, 2005, she gave birth to two lovely tri pups, boys again! Their pictures can be seen on the Family Photos page link below.
Before You Add a Basenji to Your Family . . .
There is so much good information available on the internet to help you research pedigrees and health status, and to educate you on any Basenji you are planning to live with, care for, and love. Plan to attend a dog show near you and talk with Basenji exhibitors; ask lots of questions and be sure to visit their Basenjis in a home situation.
