| CALCULATION ACCURACY |
All calculations are accurate to better than one degree of angle and one minute of time. SUNBEAR III corrects for time zones and daylight saving time. |
|
MAGNETIC |
SUNBEAR III calculates the SUN's & MOON's position from magnetic north (in addition to true north) so you may use a compass to easily determine the bearings at a site. Magnetic declination calculations are based on the International Geomagnetic Reference Field model. Existing data incorporated into SUNBEAR III allows it to correctly calculate magnetic declination for any year from 1900 to 2006. Additional data will become available exvery five years to extend the accuracy of the model. |
| INTERVAL REPORTS |
Generate an interval report of the SUN's or MOON's position. Choose any interval of interest from one minute up to one year. Choose up to 5,000 intervals per report. |
| DOCUMENTATION | A start-up manual makes the program simple and easy to install and to run for the first time. An on-line copy of the complete installation and user's manual renders comprehensive clarification of all program details. Program execution is intuitive and easy, with instructions and explanations contained on every dialog screen. Details of important terms and equations are documented in the appendices. References and useful web sites containing additional information are included. |
| ZIP CODE DATABASE |
A comprehensive database contains the longitude and latitude for the geographic center of over 32,000 USPS Zip Codes and many Canadian Postal Codes. Accuracy in urban areas typically ranges form one minute of arc to less than one degree. Of course, this depends on the geographic radius of the Zip Code. Out in West Texas there may be an occasional Zip Code with a somewhat larger radius. |
| REPORTS |
All SUNBEAR III reports, as well as Interval Reports can be sent directly to a printer. Any printer (monochrome or color) supported by Windows may be utilitzed. |
