2001.08.25 LAST BIG CLICK (again) ... I have passed the last big threshold for the last time!! This week, I passed through the 200 barrier, losing the two pound gained during vacation plus one to boot! Did I do anything different? Nope! As in the past, I try to walk every day and I eat sensibly.

I've been experimenting with my breakfast oatmeal. Just how much can you do with oatmeal, you say? Well, we've found some great new varieties from Quaker - Cinnamon Roll, and French Vanilla. Both are only about 160 calories, fixed with water, and they are sinfully good! Add a piece of fresh fruit (banana or peach) and I'm ready to go!

I've started taking my lunches, thus being able to control a little better the number of calories and content at noontime. Usually, I'll take a turkey or ham sandwich, a small bag of baby carrots, and an 8 oz carton of Dannon Light Yogurt. The whole luch goes for around 300 calories and gets me through the day. If I don't take my lunch, I try to walk to the nearest Subway Sandwich shop for a Veggie Delight & a bag of baked Lays (yes, one of Jarod's favorites). At ~450 calories, it is still a bargain, especially since I have to walk 1.6 miles to get there & again to return!

Dinner is Vicki's choice. She is following eDiets and has accumulated her favorite entrees, which are surprisingly good and filling. Add a salad and some fresh fruit and I'm set for the evening.

Of course there is exercise. But, being basically a cheap person, I elected to take up walking. I started by walking the dog every morning, for about 20 minutes. I increased that to 30 minutes, then added an evening walk. When Vicki joined in, we took up long weekend walks. We have enjoyed pushing ourselves, entering several charity 5K, 10K and 12K "races". That's it! I have decided that a hour walk in the evening is much more important than any one TV show.

Sounds too simple? Not really! If you decide that you are going to lose weight, and follow through with some sensible eating AND move your butt, it will happen. That's been the routine for the past 71 weeks, and the payoff has not only been the loss of over 1/3 of my body weight, but also a tremendous increase in self-esteem and confidence. And now, I've surpassed the 200 mark, the last BIG CLICK on my balance-beam scale.

And, as I divulge in My Secrets, I even do it with a little self indulgence sprinkled in. How? By moving my ass!

It really IS that easy. But you have to want it. No one else can do it for you.

Why not take a little walk, and think about it??

Thank You for Visiting!!
