2001.10.14 TWO WEEKS TO HALF MARATHON... I can't say that I'm looking forward to it. I know that I can complete a 13 mile walk. I just don't know how much I may need to jog. I'll have to work up the "game plan" with Vicki & we'll see.

The Silicon Valley Half Marathon was an opportunity that Vicki couldn't pass up. I think her sister is coming down to do the race with us.

We went wogging this morning, along one of our favorite 5.5 mile circuits. The first part, about 1.5 miles, went pretty well. I finished a little ahead of her, primarily due to my longer stride.

But her endurance is far better than mine. She jogged two more segments, that I walked & jogged. She ended up getting back to home 2-3 minutes ahead of me. She wasn't trying to speed along, she just goes at a slow, constant rate.

I just need to work at it more. My half hour dog walks in the morning aren't cutting it for conditioning any more. I need to add some cardio conditioning - possibly by riding the stationary bike while watching a little TV in the evening.

Meanwhile, the Half Marathon that I AM looking forward to is coming up on Thanksgiving weekend in Seattle. I should be in better condition by then....

2001.10.18 THE BRAIN IS COMING BACK!!... To the many, rabid fans out there, this news is the best early Christmas present ever. SportBrain is coming back. After running into the tech bust and losing their funding, the company assets were sold to a U.K. firm. Now, it appears as though the company will be resurrected.

This is great news to those of us that used the SportBrain as a motivational tool to keep movin'. As of this month, I will have accumulated 4 Million steps since getting my SportBrain for Christmas last year. The word is that there is some paperwork still to be worked out. But the site is up at http://www.SportBrain.com accepting early registrations for returning users. The site will even have all of the previous historical data.

Although there will probably be a fee for use, as long as it doesn't get much above about $5/month, it will not scare away any of the current users!!

I'm no longer going to be Brainless!! There IS a Santa Claus!!

Thank You for Visiting!!
