Total Loss: 141.502001.10.21 OOPs .. NO LOSS THIS WEEK... It's not a big deal; I guess I lost my focus this week. No biggie. Tomorrow, we "do" the Silicon Valley Half Marathon. That is sure to burn a few extra calories. I'm going home to visit my mother in two weeks; it would be a nice treat for me to be at goal at that time. We'll see ...

* * * * * I usually don't find much time to fill in the journal, except on the weekends. However, I'm looking into replacing the Journal with a BLOG - a web log that can be filled in and filed from anywhere on the web. For readers, it will mostly be transparent. The entries will be dated, and be more frequent, but shorter. I will start by accumulating a month's worth before archiving the page, but that is subject to change if I get prolific. The changeover will probably take place in two weeks.

* * * * * We went on our weekly 'long' walk today - actually, we jogged the first levee and walked the remainder of the 80 minute jaunt. My pedometer read 5.5 miles. Later we went down to the 'expo' to sign up for the half marathon, pick up the tracking chip, and shop the exhibits. The tracking chip evidently is encoded with a unique number, and is attached to your shoe laces. By passing over a special mat along the course, your number is read and the race officials are able to track each of the participants. High tech!
