Martinez Music Society was formed in 1993 as an answer to one man's basic question:
Where the heck am I gonna find somewhere that will let me play music??
... or in "Field of Dreams" parlance: Build it, and they have to let you play!
Martinez Music Society started as a loosely organized open mike show.
We are now a multi-faceted music production and performance group.
We are committed to encouraging community music in Martinez, and in the surrounding communities.
We have been involved in producing and providing entertainment
for local events benefiting many groups within the community
.
All musical styles and genres are welcome at MMS.
MMS events are suitable for families, and we encourage youth to be exposed to, and to participate in music from an early age.
