10/9/77 - McNichol's Arena - Denver, CO
Twas my first Dead show. I was attending the University of Colorado in Boulder. A group of friends from school camped out in line for tickets for three days. We started out at the ticket outlet on campus. We camped there for two days and were number thirty-three in line. We decided to check on other outlets in Denver and found out that there was no one waiting there. We packed up our sleeping bags and headed to an outlet in Denver. We were first in line there. The next morning when the store manager and employees arrived, they were shocked and unprepared. There were at least 10-15 people on line for tickets by then. We had talked to them extensively and requested that they just keep pulling tickets and then start selling them. In the old days they could do that and they did. We wound up with 10 front row center seats and 10 third row center seats. We were just a little full of ourselves after that conquest!!! As we had a few more tickets than we needed for our group, we returned to Boulder and sold them to the people at the end of the line there. They were overjoyed to score such great seats.
Eight of us went to the show together......front row center, not bad for my first Dead show!!!
