A226a 1979 FIRST STROKER LIMITED EDITION
Tan paper wrappers with lithograph, "Childish Fantasy" by Henry Miller
Published in 1979 in a Limited Signed Edition of 100 copies at $15.00 with the balance of 400 copies constituting the Trade Edition.
Note: Notice on page [2]: 1st Edition with printing limited to 500 copies. Copy number 15 has blue end papers and number 62 has red endpapers. It is not known how many were used in each variation.
A226b 1979 FIRST STROKER TRADE EDITION
This edition is identical to the Limited Edition except Miller's signature does not appear on page [1], and the color of the wrapper is brown, rather than tan. In all other ways, it is the same. Copies have been seen with no price listed on back wrapper, and some with "$2.50."
Published in 1979, as part of a 500 copy edition.
Note: Copies have been seen with both red and blue endpapers.
A226c 1979 FIRST STROKER VARIENT EDITION
This edition is identical to the Trade Edition except the color of the wrapper is tan rather than brown, and the end papers are blue rather than red. In all other ways, it is the same.
Published in 1979 as part of a 500 copy edition, of which 100 were signed and the balance constituting a Trade Edition.
Note: The Trade Edition was initially bound in brown wrappers; however, according to Irving Stettner, the Editor of Stroker, when the supply of brown wrappers was exhausted, the tan wrappers of the Limited Edition were used. What percentage of the wrappers used for this Trade Edition were brown verses tan, is not known. Copies have been seen with both red and blue endpapers and with and without a price of $2.50.
