"Creating a better future for Crescenta Valley's past."
Our purpose is to investigate, record, and celebrate the history of CV.
We offer monthly free educational programs for the community, plus ongoing
community service activities which include tours of local historical sites, as
well as the archiving of historic documents and photos, and the recording of
oral histories. Membership is available for $15 for an individual, or $25 for a
couple. With your membership you will receive notifications of upcoming events,
and on tours where attendance must be limited, "members only" will be able to
attend. Here's a membership form:

We cover the Crescenta Valley geographically, and include La Crescenta,
Montrose, La Canada, and parts of Glendale.
We have a close relationship with the Crescenta Valley Town Council, the CV
Chamber of Commerce, the Foothill Design Committee, the Montrose Shopping Park
Association, as well as the historical groups around us, such as the Little
Landers Historical Society, The Glendale Historical Society, and the Lanterman
House.
Ongoing projects include a very active e-mail group where residents can discuss
CV history and hear announcements of upcoming HSCV events. The HSCV E-mail Group
can be accessed at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hscv/. We also feature a regular column in the
Valley Sun called CV Then and Now.
We are actively seeking old photos of the Crescenta Valley for our ongoing
research, and the creation of a new book on CV history. We do accept donations
of photos and artifacts, and maintain an archive located at the Lanterman House
Archive Room in La Canada. If you have old photos but would like to hang onto
them, we can scan photos and archive them electronically. Please contact me at
lawlerdad@yahoo.com if you would like
to share any of your photos or artifacts with our group.
