In about 1899, after the death of his wife Rufina Lee Taylor, Minor Lee Mansker loaded his children into a covered wagon and headed to New Mexico. He is found living in Union County, NM in the 1900 census. He then followed the Sante Fe Railroad tracks up and into Indian Territory, OK. He supported his family by hiring out his team of mules to the builders of the Railroad. He finally settled with his family in Tomaha, Indian Territory, OK. He bought a store and Post Office in Tomaha. He later moved to Brawley, Imperial County, CA where he worked as an agricultural inspector.
