Highlighting the program is J.S. Bach's ebullient Brandenburg Concerto No. 4, featuring Kathryn Canan and Robin Houston on recorders, and Lisa Lawson's dazzling turn on baroque violin. Smaller ensembles will present music by Purcell, Telemann, and Boismortier. An unusual combination of two recorders, baroque flute, harpsichord and continuo will play a delightful sonata by Johann Fasch. Guest artist James Gentry will sing two arias from Giulio Cesare by Handel which showcase a rare command of bass-baritone coloratura. Fred Weyman will join Lisa and Michael Lawson in a Telemann triosonata. Kirsten Xanthippe will sing "Virgam Virtutis" from Handel's Dixit Dominus and join the Lawsons on viola da gamba for Marin Marais’ famous church-bell imitation piece, "Sonnerie de Ste.
